Questions & Answers

Mrs
I have a 10 year old male Sharpei who has been suffering from an allergy skin issue - his jocks are covered in a red rash and he appears to,have hard balls inside of this skin, I've had him I. A course of cortisone as well as antibiotics for close on a month with little relic. What else can I do to relive his discomfort. I've bathed him twice this week and also started treating his inflamed skin hocks with tea tree oil to see if this will present some relief to him.

Mrs
Good day

I have a 10 month old female Shar Pei who weighs 12kg, who has a very bad bacterial skin infection. She's been on antibiotics and cortisone tablets for the past 6 weeks now and none is helping her condition. She's lost a bit of hair under her neck as well. Drs say due to the infection, it has tampered her growth.

We have two older Shar Pei's aged, 7 and 4 and they have not had these skin problems. They have sort of grown out of their skin (folds), but not the baby. She's gaining more skin and due to this, her skin has developed an odour as well.

Dr says they need to change the antibiotics, but not sure if the new course will work as the other tablets have not helped at all. I don't want to continue giving her meds that is not going to be beneficial to her and that might at the end of the day damage her tummy. I do not want to do that to my baby.

I need to know if there is anything else I can do to make her better please.

We have a four years old female Chinese Shar-Pei. This is our third Shar-Pei. this is the first that does not accept vet visits. We are desperately searching for a muzzle that will stay on her short, wide snout and subject her to minimal pain. We have searched all over the inter-net without success. Any suggestions, please?
